Almost Finished

Today I worked on a small panel wallhanging. It was not finished in time for Christmas. I will send it to my sister, even though it is late.

Fun with Toile

I started a couple of small pieces today. I used burgundy toile fabric. They won't be finished in time for Christmas this year. Oh...well... I enjoyed working on them.

Still Sewing

I was up late last night..... s e w i n g. Here are the wallhangings I was working on.

It was snowing when I woke up this morning. It stopped about an hour ago.

Here is one of the first quilts I made. I purchased the Christmas fabric in Pennsylvania many years ago. My friend Deb in California quilted it on her long arm.

This year I decided to put it on my bedside table.

The rose was a gift from my new dentist yesterday. What a nice thing to do!

Stocking Swap 2009

I opened my stocking last night because I am working today. I will miss both of the openings. Sigh.

Mamacrafty made me a fabulous pieced stocking with beads and bells and fuzzy trim in very bright colors. Also, she made me a matching cosmetic bag. They are so "me." She did a great job.

Also, with the stocking were: a journal, hand lotion, super seamer ruler, 2 fingertip Christmas towels, a Folk Art Flowers block kit, holiday spread knives, Mary Englebreit soap and felt snowmen stickers...and...a Jim Shore figurine - a patchwork snoman.
Wow! She sure did spoil me. Everything is wonderful!

Thank you Mamacrafty aka Paulette. I am glad you had my name this year.

I have been making Christmas stockings. Here are a few photos. I just could not get the lighting right. Sigh.

Happy Thanksgiving Day

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

God has richly blessed me in so many ways. While my life has its ups and downs, I am thankful for all that I have.

I wish my friends and family a very lovely day, full of your favorite things.

Taylor's Dress

I finished Taylor's "Little House on the Prairie" style dress yesterday.
It is on to the bonnets for both girls next.

Pilgrim Dress

I spent some time sewing today. Here is the pilgrim dress, apron and cape that I made for Piper. I think the sleeves are too short. Sigh. Unfortunately, things don't always turn out right.

I used black linen for the dress. It was fabric I bought to make something for me. But when it came time to make the pilgrim dress, I didn't want to purchase more fabric and I had just enough for this dress.
I still need to finish the cap. I will do that after I make Taylor's Early American dress. That's my next project.

Snow!

When I looked out the window this morning, I saw that it was S N O W I N G! Wow!!! What a surprise! It is a very wet snow at the moment. It seems to be melting on the street right away. And I believe the forecast is for the snow to turn to rain later today.

Goodbye, tomato plants.

Shoe bags and stuffers

I made a couple more shoe bags and stuffers today - golf fabric for one, kitty fabric for the other. I think I will take these out to the airport gift shop.

Some Day

Some day I'm going to finish this quilt. I hope that day comes soon. Here are a few of the crazy patch blocks for my niece Gwen's quilt. This is the second day this week I have worked on it. There are about 50 blocks for this quilt.

UFOs

I am busy working on UFO's that I found when I was "organizing" yesterday. Here are two bibs that just need velcro sewn on. Also, I finished one shoe bag, shoe inserts, and 2 small drawstring bags in flannel golf fabric.

I cut out a couple of costume items, too.

Letter Pillows

I made these "letter pillows" for Taylor, Piper, and Mark. I think they will be fun to toss on their beds. I will probably give the pillows to them for Christmas.

Mouse

I made this little mouse the other day.

I was going to wait until I have more mice made and then post them. However, I don't know how soon I will get back to sewing. So I changed my mind. Imagine that! LOL
