My new favorite place in the South Wayne, Wisconsin area is "Pilgrim's Pantry." It is a country store and bakery owned by a local Mennonite family. Their baked goods are delicious. They have "birch beer" in bottles from Pennsylvania.
Today Pilgrim's Pantry had an Open House. They had lots of samples to taste - coffee, teas, soups, saffron jasmine rice, beans, pies, cookies, dips, chips, cheese, candy and more. Outside they were cooking potato chips. Yum. We watched them fry them over a wood fire.
They have freshly ground peanut butter and almond butter and cashew butter. Very good.
The other day I bought some cinnamon buns. Oh...so delicious!!!
Tomorrow is Wes and Deb's anniversary. They are going out for dinner tonight. I bought them a strawberry rhubarb pie from the PP. It is Deb's favorite.
