Lainie AKA Anne took TTT for a swim on Monday. Here are the photos. Yes, TTT had to stay in a baggie. Poor thing.

Another Adventure in Australia
TTT is having so much fun in Australia I'm afraid that she might not want to come home.
Anne took TTT to her Happiness Fairies Patchwork and Quilting Group. See photo. It looks like a fun loving bunch of Aussie gals to me. I won't tell you what they "wanted" to do to poor TTT. I will only say they had some strange ideas about turning her into a HIPPY. Well, strange isn't the right word. I can't think of the right word at the moment. It is still early in the day. I'm just waking up with my cuppa coffee.

TTT with Lainie in OZ
It looks like TTT is having a grand time in OZ with Lainie aka Anne. I wish I could be there.
There is Anne welcoming TTT with hugs and kisses. So cute.
There TTT is having a Chardy as she sits in Charlie's chair. Charlie is Anne's little grandie. Oh, and there she is again...this time in Charlie's bed. Look at that cute quilt.
Thanks for sharing the photos, Anne.

TT's Day At The Hospital
If you want to track TT's adventures in Michigan, here is mamacrafty's blog: http://mamacrafty.blogspot.com.
Happy Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day!!!
I received a little surprise at work today. It seems we have a drawing every month. I don't know if everyone's name is put into a hat or just the top sales people for the month. Anway, I won the drawing for January which was given today - a little box of chocolate carmels. It was a lovely surprise.
I hope I don't get a headache from the chocolate.

Finished Cubby
Whew! It was really work, but I managed to get the shoe cubby assembled. It now holds some of my sewing stuff and paperwork. It should make it easier to stay organized. It is located to the right of the table I use for multi-purposes.
I bought a few spools of Mettler Metrosene Plus thread at Hancocks this afternoon. It was 50% off. Is this good thread? I have not yet tried it.

TT Visits Mamacrafty
TT has arrived at the first destination. She is currently visiting Mamacrafty in Michigan. See her blog: http://mamacrafty.blogspot.com. It sounds like they will have a good time.
TTT is still in an envelop travelling to Austrailia.

Using Scraps
Do you have scraps? I always have fabric scraps. This morning I decided to use some of them for a couple "quick and easy" projects.
The first one is an ID tag. I ironed a piece of white muslin on to freezer paper and wrote my name on the fabric with a micron pen. I left raw edges, tucked in a strap on a short side, and just sewed the backing, batting, and top together about 1/2 of an inch from the edge. You can stitch in 3/4 of an inch or so and then trim up if you wish. For the strap I simply tore the fabric so it is raggy. The strap is slightly under and inch wide. I tore two pieces and put the wrong sides together and sewed down the center to make it stronger than a single layer of fabric. ( You could make a longer strap and attach it to the long side so that it could be used for a name tag.) I embellished with a yo yo and a button.
Also, I made a gift tag with scraps. I used the same scrap fabric for the front and back of the tag. Then I put a smaller piece of muslin on the top and sewed around it. I left the freezer paper on the back of the muslin. I think it was easier to sew on this way. You could remove the freezer paper if you wish. And, finally, I added a button in one corner.
The gift tags will go nicely with the gift bags I like to make. I think I will sew up a bunch so they are ready to go when I need one.
I think this is a great way to use up scraps and save at the same time. Save on $$$s and save a tree. The best thing about fabric gift bags and fabric gift tags is that they can be used over and over again.
What do you think???

In the mail...
I went to the post office today with two special envelopes. The first one contains Traveller Tyroam and is going to Australia. The second one holds Traveller Tyroam Two and is headed east. I am eager to hear that they have arrived at their destinations.
TT is wearing...er, er, er...not very much as the weather is very hot downunder. Poor TTT is grabbed only in one FQ.
Today I had lunch with two friends (former co-workers) - Cindy and Rose. We went to our favorite Mexican food place downtown. I was first to arrive. Rose was the next one to show up. She really loved TT and TTT. She laughed and laughed. Now she wants to me to make "a doll that looks like she does." She is an artist - painter.
I think Cindy enjoyed seeing the dolls, too. Or...maybe she thinks I'm a bit wacko. I'm not sure.

Traveller Tyroam Two
My little Traveller Tyroam Two (TTT) now has "eyes" and "hair", but she needs a haircut. I think my favorite part so far is sewing on the "hair."
I am hoping that I will soon have TTT ready to travel.
This afternoon I went to Jubilee House where I volunteer to teach sewing. We worked on the totes the women are making.

A Long Slow Day
The morning went by fast. I worked on my second Travelling Tyroam. Here are prototypes #1 and #2 - side by side, unfinished.
This afternoon I went to work where I had "noni" juice as a sample to hand out. At least half of the people did not like the sample. Many people didn't even want to take a sample. So it was a very long, slow day.
